What is the Garrett County Democratic Club?

​The Garrett County Democratic Club has proudly been a part of our community and the voice of county Democrats for several decades. Club members volunteer and contribute to dozens of non-partisan efforts focused on building a stronger, more prosperous county. Our club has helped to initiate and stimulate civil dialogue on issues of concern to all of our neighbors. We fully engage in the political process—supporting candidates for political office and using our voices to lobby our state’s legislators to respect the beautiful bounty of natural and human resources that define Western Maryland and Garrett County.

​We welcome new members. And we look forward to working with you to honor the values shared by millions within our party; but also to join hands with all fellow citizens who remain politically independent, but who seek to share a wider, more just prosperity in our region and our community.

When Does the Democratic Club Meet?

The Club meets on the first Thursday of each month, with a business meeting on odd months and a Liberal Libations social event on even months. During the summer, if the annual Roosevelt/Kennedy Democratic Dinner is held in June as it often is, that serves as the social event for the month. Business meetings are usually held in person or on Zoom depending on the topic and the time of year. To receive announcements about business meetings and liberal libations, please follow the Garrett County Democratic Club Facebook page or submit your name for our email list.

NOTE: Those who cannot attend in-person can attend via a Zoom or Google Meet link.
